First off, Happy Holidays to everybody who reads this blog. I appreciate the questions and support, and thanks for reading. I hope you and your family have a great holiday.
Second, this little gem came to my attention today: it is a book on job search tips. I can only imagine how awful it would be to be looking for work at this time of year. Having said that, the last time I was looking (before joining EMC) I had been at one company for 13 years. I realized that I had no clue how to go about looking for work, and less than no clue on how to impress a recruiter or HR person once I had found him or her. Fortunately I did have a couple of friends in HR positions at major American companies that gave me some pointers. But I would have loved to get my hands on this book at the time. The tips and stories in the book are compiled by people in the EMC recruiting and HR organization, and cover not just American job searches, but help for job seekers around the world.
I can't think of a better gift to those looking for work than a job, or help getting one, so if you are looking for work now hopefully this will help. You can find the ebook here.
