A while back, EMC began an initiative to virtualize everything. All of our enterprise applications would run under VMware. An interesting proposition, to say the least, as we have no different an application mix or workload demand than any other enterprise of 45,000 employees and $15bn in revenue!
And now, EMC IT is prepared to talk about it. Although backup is not the subject of the initial discussion, I am told that it will form the basis of one of the sessions in the future.
